There was a little confusion around the scoring & results this morning so I thought I’d make it a little clearer.
- so it is fair across the board every match has 1hr to play.
- in that 1hr play as many sets & games as you can.
- any incomplete sets will result in a point split between the players.
- 1 point is received per set won
- short deuce.
- the more sets you win the more points you will receive so make sure there’s no time wasting between points & games.
There was question this morning over whether it is fair that the points are awarded that way on the ladder. All matches play for 1hr, if we made it only best of 3 sets some matches will be complete in 30mins. We want the players to get as much tennis in as possible in that hour. Everyone plays everyone over the term so all players will have some close matches & some high scoring matches so it should even out over the course of the comp.
The matches have time allocations due to Coronavirus & trying to accommodate many players being able to get some match play through comp!
